Systematic & Sustainable Teaching Agenda
Our Chinese center aims to make Chinese language learning more sustainable, for learners to move from the initial excitement of beginners’ taster classes to longer-term endeavors to learn the language. To achieve this, we strive to develop quality teaching materials, provide teacher training, inform curriculum content and assure our students receive the leading Chinese study experience.
Cultural Immersion Learning Experience
Studied have proved that culture learning is an indispensable part of language learning. The process of language learning is a cultural encoding. A variety of colorful Chinese cultural lectures and cultural activities will be held both online and offline Regardless of the social distance, the cultural experience is still within reach.
Original Learning Resources
Variety of online applications have been utilzed to give students a better learning experience. Original course materials are available for download anywhere and anytime. Practical and interesting course contents bring more social opportunities and meanwhile emphasize students’ learning experience and a sense of achievement.
Programs Information
Monday to Friday
Spring Intake of 2023: March 6, 2023 - July 7, 2023 (18 weeks)
Fall Intake of 2023 (tentative): September 4, 2023 - January 5, 2024 (18 weeks)
Program Type
- In-person study: 9:00 AM-12:15 PM Beijing Time, on Yan'an Road Campus
Application Deadline
- In-person study (spring intake) : January 1, 2023
- In-person study (fall intake) : July 2, 2023
Fees
- Application Fee: CNY 400
- Tuition: CNY 10,200 (Covers textbook)
- Insurance: CNY 500
* New applicants recommended by international students studied in Donghua before will enjoy application fee waiver. Full name of referrer is needed.
* Students who continue the study will enjoy application fee waivers and tuition deductions.
Course Levels
- Multiple levels for Beginner, Elementary, Intermediate, and Advanced.
- The minimum class size is 8 students.
- Students will be placed in classes which fit his/her Chinese proficiency based on the placement test result.
- Placement test instruction will be emailed before the semester starts.
- In the 1st week, students are allowed to change the course level within a specific timeframe.
Other Things You Need to Know
Visa
The school can provide you with documents for the application for a student visa or the Residence Permit (Study) case by case.
Dormitory
You can apply for on-campus housing, which is convenient and affordable. However, due to the limited rooms, the school will make arrangements according to the vacancy and the order of application.
If the reservation is confirmed, please check in during the designated time as required.
Discount
If you plan to study Chinese at DHU Chinese Language Center for more than one semester will receive the following benefits:
- Waiver of application fee
- Maximum tuition deduction of CNY 1,400
Completion
You will get a completion certificate in the electronic version after completing the courses and passing the evaluation.
Your performance in Chinese courses may influence your application if you want to apply for degree study at DHU.
Refund
Application fee： Non-refundable;
Tuition:
- Full refund: Quit before instruction starts.
- 50% refund: Quit in the 1st week of study.
- NO refund will be accepted from the 2nd week of study.
